The Institute of Technology and Professional Learning (ITPL) and the Construction Association of Bhutan (CAB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21 August 2025 in Thimphu. The MoU aims to:

• Promote Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the construction sector through the “OHS in Construction Safety Supervisor” training program.

• Deliver structured capacity-building programs tailored to the evolving needs of Bhutanese contractors.

• Strengthen professionalism and sustainability in the construction industry by equipping contractors with essential skills and knowledge.

Under the MoU, CAB will endorse and promote ITPL’s OHS training, while ITPL will provide high-quality, competency-based training aligned with national and international standards. Both organizations will also collaborate to design new training programs, advocate for policy and financial support, and work toward safer, smarter, and more sustainable construction practices in Bhutan.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Kadola, Director of ITPL, and Mr. Sonam Wangchuk, Executive Director of CAB, reaffirming their shared commitment to workplace safety.

This collaboration marks an important milestone in professionalizing Bhutan’s construction industry and reflects the shared vision of ITPL and CAB to build a safer and stronger Bhutan.
